In this short tutorial, I show two ways to tie a Lark’s Head Knot, one of the most important knots in macrame. This knot is used to attach cords to a dowel, ring, or branch and is the foundation for many macrame projects. ✨ In the video: 1. Standard Lark’s Head Knot -Fold the cord in half to create a loop at the center. -Place the cord over the dowel from the front, with the looped end resting on top. -Gently fold the looped end down over the dowel. -Bring the two loose cord ends down and through the loop. -Pull the ends evenly to tighten the knot snugly against the dowel. This is the most common and beginner-friendly way to attach cords in macrame. 2. Alternative Lark’s Head Knot. -Fold the cord in half to create a loop at the center. -Insert your thumb and index finger into the loop from the back. -While pinching with your fingers, move downward the looped end to form two smaller loops. -Place the dowel through those two small loops. -Pull the cord ends evenly to tighten the knot against the dowel.
